Hasport EKK K Swap Mounts, 96-00 EK Civic Stock Subframe
This is the kit that turned the K swap into a bolt-in job for the EK Civic. If your 96-00 hatch or sedan still has its factory subframe underneath it and you are dropping in a K20 or a K24, the Hasport EKK mount kit is what holds the engine without cutting the chassis, without hunting down an EG or DC2 subframe, and without a bracket you fabricated at two in the morning.
What It Is and Why It Works
The EKK kit mounts a K-series into the stock EK subframe. Hasport sets the engine slightly farther forward in the bay than the EKK2 style kit that uses the EG or DC2 subframe does, and that forward placement is what makes the stock subframe work. It puts the axles at a usable angle and gives you room to route the intake and header without hacking anything. The mounts are billet with Hasport polyurethane bushings, and the kit carries a lifetime warranty per Hasport.
Wheel hop is the practical reason to spend real money on K swap mounts. A K24 in a car that weighs about 2,400 lb makes more torque than the D-series that chassis shipped with ever dreamed of, and soft mounts let the whole engine rotate before the front tires see any of it. Hold the engine still and the power actually reaches the ground. You also stop the secondary problems that come with a floppy K swap: axle plunge on hard launches, a shifter that walks around under load, and header flanges that keep cracking because the engine is moving and the exhaust is not.
One hard limit worth reading twice. Hasport states that this kit only works with the stock EK subframe. If you have already converted to an EG or DC2 subframe, or you plan to, this is the wrong kit and you want the dual height EKK2 style kit instead.
Choosing the Right Version for Your Transmission
The EKK kit comes in three transmission versions. The mounts are the same idea; the brackets are cut for a specific transmission case, so pick by what is bolted to your K20 or K24, not by what car the engine came out of.

Fitment
| Year | Make | Model | Trim | Engine |
| 1996-2000 | Honda | Civic (EK, EJ) | All | K20 and K24 swap |
Stock EK subframe only. This kit will not work with an EG or DC2 subframe under the car, and it is not a fit for the EG chassis itself. Manual transmission only; Hasport does not build this kit around an automatic case.
What to Know Before You Buy
Understand the trade you are making by staying on the stock subframe. Using the factory EK subframe means the engine sits higher and a bit farther forward than it does on an EG or DC2 subframe setup. That is what makes the swap bolt in, and it is also why the axle angles are less ideal and why a slammed EK on this kit will have less ground clearance under the oil pan than one running the dual height EKK2 style kit. If the car is a low street build and you are already prepared to source an EG or DC2 subframe, steering rack and lower control arms, the dual height route positions the engine better. If you want the cleanest possible install on the parts already under your car, this is the kit.
Pick your durometer by how the car actually gets used, not by how fast you want it to sound. Hasport rates the ladder from daily driver up to an 8 second drag car. 62A is the street bushing and the right answer for a K swapped EK you still drive to work. 70A is a race bushing, and it feels like one: a hard buzz through the floor at idle, drone on engine braking, and dash and door trim that starts rattling within a week. 88A and 94A are for a car with a cage or a slick, not a car with a stereo. Polyurethane never rides better than rubber. The stiffer you go, the more the chassis learns exactly what the engine is doing, and the more load the rest of the drivetrain has to absorb.
Budget for the rest of the swap while you are here. K swap axles, a shift linkage and cables, the wiring and ECU side, and a radiator and hose setup that fits a K-series in an EK bay are all separate line items, and mounts are only the part that makes the engine sit still. Get the transmission version right before you order, because a set of mounts that has been bolted down and marked is not a set anyone will take back.

Install Notes
The Hasport EKK kit is a bolt-in mount swap for the 1996 to 2000 Honda Civic on the stock EK subframe. No chassis cutting is required. The kit uses the factory subframe mounting points, so if your subframe is intact and you have the correct transmission version, the brackets go in without fabrication.
Before you start, confirm these three things:
- Your subframe is the stock EK unit. An EG or DC2 subframe under the car means this kit will not fit.
- Your transmission matches the version you ordered. EKK1 is for the RSX and 02-11 Civic Si manual. EKK3 is for the 03-07 Accord and 04-08 TSX manual. EKK6 is for the 08-13 Accord, 09-14 TSX, and 12-15 Civic Si manual. A set of mounts that's been installed is not returnable, so get this right before the bolts go in.
- You have K-swap specific axles sourced separately. The stock EK axles do not work with a K-series, and the mounts alone don't solve that.
Beyond the mounts themselves, a complete K-swap into a 1996 to 2000 Civic also requires a shift linkage and cables, engine-specific wiring and ECU, and a radiator and cooling setup sized for the K-series. Plan for those before the engine goes in the car.
Standard hand tools cover the hardware in the kit. No specialty tooling is required to mount the brackets. Engine positioning and final torque specs are covered in Hasport's own install documentation, which Hasport provides with the kit.
Technical Data
The Hasport EKK mount kit fits 1996 to 2000 Honda Civic chassis running the stock EK subframe. It positions the K-series engine slightly farther forward in the bay than a kit built around the EG or DC2 subframe, and that forward offset is what makes the axle angles and intake routing work without cutting the chassis.
Hasport offers three transmission-specific versions. The brackets differ by transmission case, so match to what's on your engine, not what car the engine came out of.
| Version | Compatible Transmission |
|---|---|
| EKK1 | RSX and 02-11 Civic Si manual |
| EKK3 | 03-07 Accord and 04-08 TSX manual |
| EKK6 | 08-13 Accord, 09-14 TSX, and 12-15 Civic Si manual |
Each version is available in four bushing durometers. Here's what each one actually means for how the car behaves:
| Durometer | Rating | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 62A | Street | Daily driver or weekend street car. Reasonable NVH, no excessive vibration at idle. |
| 70A | Race | Track use. Expect a hard buzz through the floor at idle and rattling interior trim within a week on the street. |
| 88A | Extreme Race | Dedicated race car. Not compatible with a stereo or passenger comfort. |
| 94A | Most Extreme Race | 8-second drag car territory. Cage and slicks assumed. |
One limit that matters before you order: this kit only works with the stock EK subframe in place. If you're running an EG or DC2 subframe, or you plan to convert, this is the wrong kit. You want the dual-height EKK2-style setup instead. Hasport is explicit on this, and it isn't a gray area.
Manual transmission only. Hasport does not build this kit around an automatic case.
The kit carries a lifetime warranty per Hasport.
