The Hondata Coil Pack Retrofit Kit (CPR) is a revolutionary solution for Honda engines with distributor-based ignition systems, including D, B, F, and H series engines. This innovative kit allows the use of individual ignition coils, commonly found on later model Honda engines, by replacing the stock coil and ignition with an electronic circuit. Designed for performance enthusiasts, the CPR delivers more spark energy, enabling a larger plug gap and reducing misfires for a more efficient and reliable ignition system.

Compatible with engines such as the D16, B16, B18, H22, and F22, and ECUs like the US P08, P28, P30, P72, P74, and P75, the Hondata CPR enhances your engine’s performance without the need for major modifications. The kit includes a wiring harness for your coil packs, a coil pack controller, and fly leads for connecting to your distributor and ECU. Typically mounted next to the ECU inside the car, this setup ensures seamless integration and optimal performance.

Benefits of the Hondata CPR include increased spark energy, durability, and the ability to drive a CDI controller if desired. The kit is designed to work with Hondata S300Rywire Mil-Spec CPR Wiring Harness, and US OBDI ECUs, requiring four Honda ignition coils (30520-RRA-A07) or 30522-RNA-A01 and resistor plugs for proper function. Although it retains the distributor for timing signals and is not a wasted spark system, the CPR significantly improves ignition reliability and performance, making it a must-have for any racing or high-performance application. Note that while the CPR kit enhances your engine’s capabilities, cranking times may be slightly longer compared to stock ignition setups.
