Hybrid Racing Short Shifter - 2006-2011 Honda Civic (8th Gen)
After making shifter cables, cable bushings, base bushings, and the clutch master cylinder upgrade for the 8th gen Civic, we realized the stock shifter still sucked. So we took our original 06-11 Civic shifter and completely rebuilt it from scratch. After a ton of design work and testing, we ended up with a shifter that actually works the way it should. This is the shifter we run on our own cars because the stock one feels like stirring oatmeal.

Built from Real Owner Complaints
We started by reading forum threads and talking to 8th gen Civic owners to figure out what people hated about the stock shifter and other short shifters on the market. We'd already designed shifters before, so we knew we wanted full adjustability so you can set it up exactly how you want it. What we built is a shifter that's tough, adjustable, and priced so you don't have to choose between this and eating real food.

Steel Frame with Aluminum Rockers
The frame is TIG welded from steel and powder coated so it doesn't rust. The dust gold anodized upper and lower rocker pieces are machined from aluminum and use sealed ball bearings to cut friction. The V2 version is 60% smoother than the original, which means you don't have to muscle it through gears anymore. You adjust the throw using two threaded cable pins, so you can dial in exactly how short you want it. Each pin has a Delrin cap that won't wear out or make noise. We ditched the OEM torsion spring and went with dual extension springs that center better and feel more direct.

Adjust Front/Back and Left/Right Separately
You can adjust the front/back throw and left/right throw independently. Here's how much shorter you can make it:
2006-2008 8th Gen Honda Civic Si
- Front/back: 80% to 48% of stock throw (20% to 52% shorter)
- Left/right: 83% to 47% of stock throw (17% to 53% shorter)
2009-2011 8th Gen Honda Civic Si
- Front/back: 87% to 52% of stock throw (17% to 48% shorter)
- Left/right: 90% to 49% of stock throw (10% to 51% shorter)
Change the Shift Knob Height
Beyond just shortening the throw, you can also adjust how high or low your shift knob sits. We borrowed the single bolt height adjustment from our K-swap shifters so you can move the knob up or down 1.5 inches total using just a 5mm allen wrench. Now you can set the throw length and knob height separately until it feels exactly right for you.
No Base Bushings Required
This shifter is designed so you don't need base bushings to make it work. You're not spending extra money on solid bushings just to get it to feel tight. It works with OEM 8th gen Civic cables or our performance cables. It fits both the base model R18 Civics and the Si K20 cars.
